About this Work

The energy of a horse, wild and free in the open desert. Where do the rolling dunes end and the luminous sky begin? This is sometimes how I feel, in my heart. What to do, but paint this, express this, breathe this into a painting so it can maybe be felt by another…

I got creative with my materials here, bringing in spray cans to get the background sky gradient and red shading on the horse. It was a mixing of media I hadn’t done before, and I notice that every time I change things up with my materials, a new creative surge typically arises.
